Incorporating help defense within your closeout drills allows you to work on multiple things at once. Coach Muller shows a drill that incorporates help defense, closing out to the gaps within the first passing lane, and on-ball defense. After your players work on their footwork and proper closeout technique, they will progress and incorporate live game play.
This drill allows to instill baseline out of bounds situations. You can also adjust the drill to force the ball to the sideline, middle, or baseline. More Info & Videos! (August 19th, 2019)

The Math PhD Turning Basketball Into a Science

With her PhD in math, Ivana Seric had expected to wind up with a career in academia—but thanks to the growing use of statistical analysis in the NBA, she took a job with the Philadelphia 76ers instead. As a data scientist, she helps the team's coaches devise smarter strategies to win. Next Jobs is a mini-documentary series about careers of the future hosted by Bloomberg Technology's Aki Ito.

"... I really want to see the relationship of winning and teams who more deeply follow statistics. Is it at a place yet where this actually helps or is still more about gut and heart? ..." Continue reading:

Basketball Advanced Statistics OR / AND / WITH
Basketball Conventional Statistics... THAT is the question !

This debate is a great initiative, eBA Team ! But, the real problem here, is that there are many people out there who might be turned outside this debate because they dont know nothing about basketball advanced statistics !

Therefore great labor of the eBA Stats Group putting it down throughout the eBA Stats Sites for those who don't like math or feel a bit apprehensive by the whole thing.

The question is, basketball advanced stats can be enjoyable ! I admit that they help me to rearrange my apprehension, or definitely back it up.

For example, I just searched for something I’ve felt for a long time, and the stats back me up: For example, Manu Ginobili is great at the rim and close to it, with a respectable 3 points percentage for a player who pulls up so much off the dribble….but his long 2 points shots are terrible ! Happily, he doesn't like that shot much !
