We have this situation: when player A2 attempts a 3-pointer, after the ball leaves his hands, opponent B1 fouls A1 in the lane and the referee calls it.

What should be the call and for the stats-man: A1 foul received ? A2 3-pointer attempt ? A1 or A2 goes to the line ?

The basket is good: it counts. Now:
1) if the team B is not in the penalty / bonus, team A is given possession of the ball for a throw in;
Stats-man= 3 points made for A2 and Forced Turnover for B2.

2) if the team B is IN the penalty / bonus, A1 goes for the free throw line and not shooter A2;
Stats-man= same stats and game goes on with free throws.

All the terms in this answer are explained widely at The Global Basketball Directory.

The eBA System gives the classification of "Positive", "Negative" and "Neutral" Personal Fouls Made and Received for the NEW eBA Fouls Rating. Which is the classification IN THIS CASE ?

In some situations, a team could get the basket and the ball ( this is often referred as "double jeopardy" ). The NBA rule avoids this problem:
- if A2's 3-point attempt is good, it counts and A1 shoots one shot.
- if the basket was not good, either Team A gets the ball out of bounds for a throw-in or A1 shoots penalty (2 shots), depending on the number of team fouls in the period.

With reference to the foul type: in all the cases, this is an general example of a "bad" foul. Only in the case of a foul intentionally made on a certain player to send him to the line, may be classified as "good" - in case of missed free-throws -or "neutral".
