Slam Dunk.

A dunk on which the ball is thrown down very hard through the basket. See: Dunk.

Slap Pass.

A mere deflection of the ball without catching it. This pass may be made with one hand or with both hands. It is effective in close-in play where a fast return must be made or on held balls where it may not be possible to obtain the possession of the ball.

Small Forward.

A forward who is typically smaller and quicker than the power forward; therefore more likely to play facing the basket and to take jump shots. A frontcourt position that requires both guard and forward skills. Small forwards are often called upon to play close to and far away from the basket.

Smile.

Court terminology: 10'-14' crescent outside the "red zone".
