In The Paint.
Descriptive of a location in the free throw lane,
because it's painted a different color from the rest of the court.
Inbound.
v. To pass, the ball,
on a throw in.
Inbounds.
The area within the end lines, and sidelines
of the court; also the act of
bringing the ball into this area by
means a throw in.
Inbounds Pass.
A pass that occurs after
a stoppage in play and is used on the throw in . An
offensive player stands out-of-bounds
and has five seconds to pass the ball inbounds,
thus restarting the action. If the inbounds passer fails to do so,
he/she is called for a five-second violation and a turnover
results.
Incidental Contact.
Minor, basically inadvertent contact, that is
usually ignored by the officials.
Inside Shooting.
Shots taken by a player
near or under the basket.
Inside Shot.
A shot taken from near or
under the basket.
Intentional Foul.
A foul deliberately
commited by a defensive player to
stop the clock. In college
Basketball, the team that was fouled get two free throws and possession
of the ball.
