Flex Offense.

The Flex Offense employs an effective ball movement to "flex" defenses between strong and weakside help with consistent ball reversal from side to side. This idea became a popular offense in the 70's based in part on the great success of Coach Carroll Williams at Santa Clara University.

Flip Pass.

The pass is used for close passing and in pivoting offense. The wrist is used to flip the ball to a player cutting by. The flip pass is a short pass used primarily in the "give-and-go" offense and is seldom intercepted or fumbled due the fact that the ball is protected and shielded from the defensive man.

Floor.

1. The playing area of the court within the end lines and sidelines.
2. The surface of the court.

Floor Percentage.

The percentage of a team's possessions that end in scoring possessions.

Floor Violation.

A player's action that violates the rules but does not prevent an opponent's movement or causes him harm; penalized by a change in possession.
