Tiempo Suplementario:   "Overtime or OT"

Un período extra de cinco minutos que se juega cuando el regulation game está empatado. Si el juego continúa empatado después del Tiempo Suplementario, otro período será jugado hasta que el partido tenga un vencedor.

Time Line or Timeline.

The half-court line. Another name for the center line. It is called so because the offense must advance the ball beyond the half court line within 10 seconds of its possession or it loses the ball.

Time Out or Timeout.   "Tiempo Muerto"

A legal stoppage of play. When play is temporarily suspended by an official or at the request of a team to respond to an injured player or discuss strategy; there are full timeouts (100 or 60 seconds in NBA, 60 seconds in FIBA, ULEB and international plays; 120 seconds in WNBA, 75 or 60 seconds in college) and 20-second timeouts (30 seconds in college).

Time Played.

For the Official Statistics Interpretations, time is computed by full minutes only. If a player enters the game and appear for only one second he is given credit for a full minute. The rule of thumb is to subtract the partial minute from the player he replaces.

             Example 1= Player B replaces A with 2'15" left
             in the first half and  plays the 
             rest of the first half.
             
             Stats: Credit Player A with 
                    18 minutes, Player B with two.
  
             Example 2= Player B replaces A with 2'45" left
             to play and plays the rest of the
             half.
             
             Stats: Credit Player A with
                    17 minutes, Player B with three. 
  

Tip-in:   "Cachetear"

The initial jump ball at the beginning of a game.
