Lead Official.

The referee or official who is primarily responsible for action between the baseline and the free throw line extended. After a change in possession, when the ball begins to move toward the other end of the court, the lead official usually becomes the trail official.

Lead Pass.

A pass thrown well ahead of a running teammate.

Línea Central:   "Center Line"

Una línea medianera ubicada paralelamente entre las líneas de fondo que divide el campo en mitades. También conocida como: "division line", "midcourt line", ten-seconds line y "time line".

El camino imaginario del balón, desde el jugador que pasa hasta el receptor destinatario del pase.

Línea de Tiros Libres:   "Free Throw Line"

Una de las dos líneas ( una en cada área restringida ), 16 pies de largo en la NBA, 12 pies en la NCAA, 3.60 metros en FIBA y ULEB , y 2 pulgadas de ancho, marcada a 19 pies y paralela a la línea de fondo (15 pies - 4.60 m - del tablero), desde la cual un jugador intenta un tiro libre.

Live Ball.

As soon as a ball is given to a free-throw shooter or a thrower on a throw-in, it is live, but the game clock does not restart until the ball is alive.
